TIPS AND TRICKS

Troubleshooting an instrument problem can be a daunting procedure! Where do you start? Try the "funnel" approach – narrow your problem down step by step. Define the problem; gather information from the instrument, chromatograms and reports. Check the log book. What was the last thing done to the instrument? Isolate the problem. Can you isolate the system components and test each section separately? Try an alternate test or procedure on the instrument. Once the repair is complete, document what was done in the log book so that the next time it happens you will be prepared!

CSD SALES

With K'Prime for two and a half years, Carine Lewoniuk is the new CSD Sales Representative for British Columbia and Alberta and works out of her Edmonton home office. Prior to this role, she served as the Genomics Technical Sales Representative for the Canadian prairies.

After getting her MSc in Chemistry from the University of Alberta, Carine worked in the Analytical Chemistry department at Gilead AB for a few years, before heading to K’Prime Technologies and the world of sales.

When she's not working, Carine enjoys taking pictures and playing volleyball. She spends most of her vacation time traveling around the world, and most recently went to Italy.

She is often asked if she is Russian or Scandinavian and we guess that her new last name won’t help clarify the origin of her accent. Can you guess where she is from?
